We are excited to share with you our very first Carbon Footprint Report for the year 2023, a key step in our ongoing commitment to being Even More Sustainable. This report, prepared with Sami, allows us to analyze areas where we can improve and implement a strategy to reduce our carbon impact.
Thus, this report serves as both an evaluation tool and an opportunity to share our ambitions and actions for the climate. When we conduct our next Carbon Footprint Report for the year 2024, we will be able to assess the impact of the actions taken to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions.
But what exactly is a Carbon Footprint Report?
The Bilan Carbone® is a carbon accounting method created in France in 2004 by ADEME and now supported by the Bilan Carbone Association (ABC). The goal of a Bilan Carbone® is to measure all emissions physically necessary for the activities of a company (we can talk about physical dependence on carbon), including its upstream activities (supply, freight, etc.), production, and downstream activities (distribution, use of sold products, etc.).

It is calculated by analyzing three scopes, which correspond to the scope of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in the Carbon Footprint Report.
Scope 1: Direct GHG emissions, mainly due to the combustion of fossil fuels for heating or company vehicles.
Scope 2: Indirect emissions associated with the production of electricity and heat.
Scope 3: All other indirect emissions in your value chain (travel, purchases, waste, etc.). This Scope generally accounts for most emissions.
This allows us to take into account the emissions across our entire value chain.
